About You

We are seeking a Business Development Manager for Personal Lines Insurance to play a pivotal role in driving growth and generating sales leads for our Personal Lines sales team in Nova Scotia. This role will focus on identifying opportunities, fostering relationships, and establishing a robust presence within the Nova Scotia insurance market.

Job Duties

As the Business Development Manager, you will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and be responsible for generating leads and driving the growth strategy.

Specific duties include:

· Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with current group insurance partners (e.g., Fire Services Association of NS - FSANS) and key Centers of Influence (COIs) such as auto dealerships, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, and lawyers.

· Opportunity Identification: Generate leads within target segments, focusing on strengthening relationships with existing and prospective group insurance partners.

· Event Engagement: Identify and attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our services and cultivate leads.

· Lead Generation: Collaborate with the Personal Lines Sales Manager to identify up-selling and cross-selling opportunities and drive the creation of quality leads.

· Sales Targets: Set and achieve ambitious sales targets that align with the company's strategic goals.

· Brand Ambassador: Act as an advocate for Munn Insurance, promoting our brand positively to customers, prospects, and partners.

· Cultural Contribution: Contribute to a positive company culture focused on teamwork, innovation, and community engagement.

· Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer.

Job Requirements

Ultimately, a top-notch Business Development Manager should have exceptional relationship-building skills, enabling them to forge strong connections with clients and partners. They should have a strategic mindset, with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive innovative growth initiatives. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for articulating value propositions and closing deals effectively, all while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

You should also have:

· 5 years of relevant experience

· A post-secondary degree in a related field of study

· General Insurance Essentials (GIE) License or CAIB 1 designation – or willingness to complete the required courses for either within the first year with our full support while on the job.
