Position Summary:
A cashier is committed to achieving Doidge Building Centres Ltd.'s service standards while providing the customers with the best shopping experience possible.

This position is be for afternoon shifts and weekends. Wage is dependent on experience.

Location: This position is at the RONA store on Niagara St in Welland, Ontario.

Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Possible keyholder position.
• Build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional, and contractor customers
• Direct or guide customers to departments to provide products and services.
• Process customer transactions; purchases and returns
• Maintain checkout workstations and ensure they are clean, tidy, and uncluttered
• Produce and balance the cash report at the end of each shift
• Comply with the Company’s policies and procedures regarding loss prevention and health and safety
• Physically demanding. Use of ladders and lifting techniques when required. Lifting can be a component of this position

Qualifications:

• Exceptional customer service skills
• Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and problem-solving skills
• Proficient computer skills and basic math skills
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Flexible availability based on store needs (includes evenings and weekends)
• Retail and sales experience in the hardware and contractor industry an asset

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
