Come and join the Heart of Excellence! We are looking to recruit a part time Client Care Specialist for our Kingsland Terrace in Calgary, Alberta.

The Client Care Specialist, under the direction and supervision of the LPN and Facility Leader, is responsible for the safe provision of quality personal care services to residents at the facility.

The Client Care Specialist :

  • Assist and promote independence through all aspects of a resident’s aid to daily living (ADL) through a holistic approach to care within a small group living environment.
  • Utilizes the resident’s care plan to provide safe and respectful individualized care.
  • Promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual well-being of residents.
  • Follows and complies with Intercare’s established policies, procedures and work routines.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
  • Works in collaboration and partnership with Intercare to continually improve performance and provide high quality customer service for residents, families, guests /visitors and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach
  • Health Care Aide Certificate – as approved by Alberta’s Provincial Curriculum
  • Medication Administration Certification
  • Food Safe Handling Training certification (or requirement to complete in house Food Safe Handling Training upon hire) at least every three years.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances during work period.
  • Lifting alone, maximum 40 lbs. as an essential job function.
  • Lifting with assistance, maximum 200 pounds as an essential job function.
  • Pushing/pulling, using wheeled equipment such as cards and trolleys, maximum 100 lbs as an essential job function.
  • Must be able to perform turning, stooping, bending, stretching and lifting to assist Residents in care requirements and other related duties.
  • Must be able to move and lift equipment and supplies of various sizes and weights.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity to recognize the need of assistance by Residents.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a safe and timely manner.
  • Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for residents, families, guests / visitors and staff.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
