What do you offer?

Reporting to the Manager, Philanthropy and Community Engagement, the Donor Relations and Stewardship Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s fundraising efforts by processing donations, maintaining accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge, and responding to donor inquiries in a timely and professional manner. This position is responsible for managing data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all donor records, and generating reports to inform fundraising strategies. The Coordinator will liaise with the Finance Department to ensure accurate reconciliation of donations and financial reporting. The Coordinator will also oversee stewardship activities, including sending acknowledgment letters, managing donor communications such as newsletters, and ensuring donors receive regular updates on the impact of their contributions.

Some of the tasks of this position include:

  • Supporting the organization’s fundraising efforts by processing donations, maintaining accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge, and responding to donor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Managing data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in donor records, and generating reports to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Liaising with the Finance Department to ensure accurate reconciliation of donations and financial reporting.
  • Overseeing stewardship activities, including sending acknowledgement letters, managing donor communications, and ensuring donors receive regular updates on the impact of their contributions.
  • Interpreting donor trends, analyzing data for reports, and collaborating with other departments for proactive problem identification to ensure the success of fundraising efforts.

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising, non-profit management, communications or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Language

  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in donor relations, fundraising, or non-profit development
  • Proficiency in Donor or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software (Raiser’s Edge is strongly preferred)
  • Experience with data management and reporting
  • Basic knowledge of accounting or financial systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Commitment to working as part of cross-functional teams

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required. Police Records checks are reviewed on an individual basis and the offense(s) - if any - is considered in the decision-making process in relation to the requirement of working with children, therefore not eliminating all candidates with a record from being offered a position.
  • Annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
