Hello!

Al's Steakhouse is a family run business entering our 57th year. We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager, with management experience, to work with our current management team and ownership group.

Our ideal candidate has restaurant management experience and able to work in a fast paced work environment while managing staff and guest expectations.

The position would be 4-5 evenings per week (to be discussed) with the possibility of one day shift (to be discussed).

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Guest Experience:

Conduct regular “table touching” throughout dinner service to monitor and ensure the highest quality of service delivery.
Address and swiftly resolve any customer service issues or complaints, maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction. Implement strategies to enhance the dining experience and continually raise the standard of service.

Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, motivate, and develop a team of managers and staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment. Conduct regular meetings with other managers to review, approve, and implement changes to operational procedures. Ensure effective communication across all levels of the restaurant team to align with the restaurant’s goals and standards.

Operational Excellence:

Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring all activities align with the establishment’s policies and guidelines. Monitor and manage operational costs, focusing on efficiency and cost-effective practices. Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, and service teams to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.

Oversee the reservation system to manage bookings and accommodate special requests.
Strategic Planning and Innovation:

Play a key role in strategic planning for the restaurant, including menu development, marketing initiatives, and business growth strategies. Stay abreast of industry trends and introduce innovative ideas to enhance the restaurant's competitiveness and appeal.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all front-of-house areas.
Address any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly to maintain a safe and inviting dining environment.

Financial Oversight:

Manage daily sales and front-of-house expenses, including staff payroll and tipping procedures.
Monitor and report on front-of-house financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.

End-of-Day Management:

Supervise and coordinate all closing activities, ensuring that the restaurant is securely and efficiently closed down at the end of each day.
Oversee the cleaning and resetting of the dining area, bar, and kitchen to ensure the restaurant is ready for the next business day.

We are looking for someone willing to work long hours and truly wants to improve the dining experience for our guests.

Must have the following qualifications:

· Restaurant management experience

· Outgoing and energetic- must network with guests

· If you are not an outgoing, personable and energetic person, this is not the position for you.

· Experience managing staff of 20+

· Food management/quality knowledge

· Wine knowledge (not mandatory but an asset)

· Experience dealing with multiple vendors

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
