Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Full-Time Forklift Operator - Order Builder to join our team. The shifts are Monday - Friday 8:45am - 5:15pm. The wage range for this position is $22-$27 per hour (Tier 1; $22-$24.50, Tier 2; $24.50-$27). Our EFAP starts upon hire and our Extended Health & Dental benefits start after 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
• Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as a top priorities
• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms
• Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met
• Build orders to required specifications for delivery
• Clean yard
• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials
• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands
• Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Valid forklift certification (propane)
• Forklift experience is essential
• Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
• Knowledge of basic mathematics
• Basic hand tool skills
• Physical requirements include:
  o Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  o Sitting and driving for longs periods of time
  o Frequently climbing up and down stairs
  o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
• A positive can do attitude is essential!
