Our meat department is an integral part of our store, and we are looking for a dedicated Meat Clerk to join our team. Position Overview: As a Meat Clerk at Ellis St Market, you will play a vital role in maintaining our meat department's high standards. You will assist with meat wrapping, provide outstanding customer service, manage inventory, and ensure that our equipment is clean and well-maintained. There is also an opportunity to learn meat cutting techniques on the job if you don’t have prior experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meat Wrapping: Efficiently wrap and package meat products to maintain freshness and ensure accurate labeling.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, assist with their meat-related inquiries, and provide friendly and knowledgeable service.
• Product Management: Bring out new meat products, ensure proper stock levels, and assist with inventory management.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the meat department clean and sanitary, including the maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Learning Opportunity: Receive on-the-job training in meat cutting if you do not have prior experience. Gain valuable skills and knowledge in meat preparation and cutting techniques.

Qualifications:

• No prior meat cutting experience required: We provide training for those interested in learning but experience is a bonus!
• Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively assist customers.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to handle meat products with care and ensure proper wrapping and labeling.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Team Player: Collaborative attitude and willingness to work with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of or willingness to learn about food safety and sanitation standards.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.40-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
