As our Head of Retail, you will take the lead in shaping the success of our Canada market, driving sales growth, and achieving outstanding KPI performance. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring profitability through strategic sales leadership, tight cost management, and delivering excellence in brand standards.

Based out of Toronto, you will manage a substantial portfolio of locations (12 standalone stores + 39 Concession locations in Hudson Bay Department Store), offering you the chance to elevate your leadership impact and influence across multiple regions. Your success will come from creating a positive culture of high performance, collaboration, and a customer-first mindset.

Please note, this role offers WFH flexibility when not working out of a store location. Travel is also required for this position.

  • Ensure the Forever New service approach is consistently upheld and demonstrated by team
  • Proactively manage and ensure the teams are delivering service to the highest standard.
  • Ensure a culture of Customer First in aligned teams that ensure positive experiences every time.
  • Ensure the achievement of store sales targets and pre-determined objectives by driving initiatives with the teams to deliver these metrics (including but not limited to IPS, conversion, loyalty etc.)
  • Ensure all stores are well-stocked and exceptionally presented in accordance with VM directions. Proactively manage and lead when this is not the case and ensure of quick resolutions.
  • Support stores to ensure that all VM actions and updates have been actioned as directed and by the required deadline. Ensure you set up strong actions that enable you to understand when this has not been executed and ensure there is a plan in place to execute quickly.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the following KPIS in your aligned markets - sales, wages, shrink, profit, average dollar targets and conversion (where applicable) for all assigned stores and concessions. Where these are not being met ensure you proactively plan ways to deliver these by utilizing team and head office contacts.
  • Ensure awareness of competitor activity for assigned market and stores, and proactively feedback when this may be having an impact on your own results
  • In conjunction with your retail management teams, identify initiatives and actions to drive sales
  • Have a strong eye for effective and efficient operations so that your aligned markets are maximizing profit and delivering strong customer experience.
  • Undertake operational activities including reporting, audits, training, coaching, reviews and disciplinary discussions
  • Communicate required inventory activities to assigned stores, including replenishments, stock consolidations, stock takes & Faulty management.
  • Foster a supportive and high-performing team environment that encourages retention and attraction.
  • Proactive work your networks to ensure people look to Forever New for career opportunities
  • Develop team members to ensure competency and confidence in sales, service and operational activities Coach and motivate aligned teams to understand and achieve individual sales budgets and targets
  • Train team members on product knowledge, service and standards
  • Review and approve rosters based on traffic patterns
  • Approve leave applications

THE QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US

We are looking for a dynamic leader who can bring strategic vision and operational excellence to our growing Canada market.

  • Relevant Retail industry experience required (specific apparel experience highly regarded)
  • Extensive Senior Retail Leadership experience (preferably at an Area Manager level)
  • Multi-site and large portfolio management experience is a must
  • Ability to drive sales and manage operations at a high level
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer focused mindset

Pay: From $135,000.00 per year
