Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe completion of construction and maintenance projects. The Equipment Operator will work closely with other team members to achieve project goals while adhering to safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including Skidsteers, Backhoes, Excavators. Packers, loaders to perform tasks such as digging, grading, and lifting materials.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Collaborate with team members to build structures and complete projects according to specifications.
• Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
• Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
• Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized throughout the project duration.

Skills

• Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including but not limited to Grading, Trenching and finishing.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Ability to dig and build effectively using various types of machinery.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
• Must be willing to work From Salmon Arm to Penticton and everywhere in between. Some travel jobs but not often.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 60 per week

Additional pay:

• Overtime pay

• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Construction: 5 years (required)
• Backhoe operation: 1 year (preferred)
• Excavator: 5 years (required)
• Heavy equipment operation: 5 years (required)
