What You Will Do:

  • Protect facilities through active monitoring of CCTV systems.
  • Investigate incidents relating to loss prevention, cash handling, inventory management, errors, theft, shoplifting, vandalism, and fraudulent activity.
  • Assists, when necessary, with loss prevention incidents.
  • Regularly audits all sites for adherence to loss prevention policies, processes, and programs to minimize operational risk and financial losses related to, but not limited to cash handling, inventory management, errors, theft, shoplifting, vandalism and fraudulent activity.
  • Assists in the administration, permissions, access levels for all loss prevention-based software systems including CCTV systems, incident report database, access control and alarm systems.
  • Assists in incident investigation process and ensure that relevant incident data is captured, reported, analyzed, and saved to provide an accurate picture of incident patterns and trends.
  • Develops/coordinates monthly, semi annual, and annual inspection schedules for loss prevention as it relates to CCTV systems.
  • Assists in root cause analyses of incidents and assist with implementing prevention measures.
  • Maintain a program of regular inspections (remotely and on site as required) and risk assessments in common areas, work areas and various locations to minimize operational risk and financial loss.
  • Assists with the maintenance of a risk level dashboard focusing on incidents, accidents, audits and develops a comprehensive rating system for senior leadership.
  • Assist, when necessary, the Loss Prevention and Security Manager on CCTV training remotely and on site as required.
  • Assists with and delivers in-person and remote training sessions on loss prevention techniques, employee policies, procedures, and risk mitigation.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Effective leadership characteristics – humility, empathy, courage – to inspire and enact change.
  • Exceptional listening skills and high emotional intelligence, respecting differences between various ethnic groups and gender in the workplace.
  • Security Guard/Private Investigator license.
  • Experience working with various CCTV platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of CCTV systems and their operational and installation requirements.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Post secondary education related to loss prevention.
  • 2-4 years loss prevention experience in various retail and warehouse environments.
  • Thorough knowledge of loss prevention laws and guidelines.
  • High technical aptitude to assess organizational risk and provide process improvement recommendations.
  • Other loss prevention training/certifications, and program completions.
  • Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
  • Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate.
