Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:


You are an advertising and visual marketing professional who understands how to drive conversion and guest engagement. This position supports the organization with in store marketing and promotional plans that drive sales, guest engagement and store simplification. Support merchandising sales plan with the creation and deployment of effective in store marketing creative and placement, driving great guest communication, integration with digital goals and product sales growth. Coordinate and lead all promotional activations with vendor partners as well as proprietary promotions. Provide superior creative and promotional plans to support tests, digital innovation and new stores.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the creative design, distribution, production and execution of all Canadian POP requirements, with our Printers and designers in order to execute impactful monthly kits to all 7-Eleven Stores across Canada on a timely basis.
  • Manage and maintain a detailed POP distribution list that enables individual store kitting and shipping to be handled in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Brief the agency for creative development, and manage the creative process. Review work with agencies and printer vendors to ensure 7-Eleven’s POP kits are designed, printed and executed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate the promotional integration into store for marketing promotions, vendor promotions and integration of the digital and loyalty activations into the in store marketing plan.
  • Plan and execute digital menu board and infotainment screen activations, supported by the digital team, to support guest path to purchase, promotional communication and mobile guest engagement.
  • Responsible for gathering research data from tests run in the US and/or conducting research in Canadian stores, extensive in-store testing and implementation of Permanent hardware and inserts (if importation from the US is not feasible due to territorial differences) (i.e. Classic Chicken Shroud etc) to better cross merchandise and communicate our message to our customer. Ensure that permanent pieces work for maximum customer communication within the store parameters.
  • Maintain and manage monthly POP Permanent inventory held at printer, as well as ordering catalogue, inventory levels and cost control.
  • Responsible for providing support to the markets with respect to Permanent and Monthly POP. (i.e.: placement sheets instruction, informing markets of upcoming projects)
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing New Store Promotional Package (POP, flyers, bag stuffers, mailers, digital coordination ) on a timely and efficient manner.
  • Estimate all POP to ensure cost effectiveness and that costs remain within advertising Budget POP line.
  • Administering of all New Store/Remodel Customer Communication Information Package POP kits and ensures that all new store/remodel stores are equipped with the required hardware. Train as required implementation of the CCIP kit.
  • Responsible for and maintain listing and surveys of all stores remodeled.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Individual should possess a Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 3 years related experience.


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/TRAVEL:

Reading: Individual requires a high level of reading skills to ensure a thorough understanding of correspondence from suppliers and markets as written communication via e-mail is the primary method of communication and often contains detailed information crucial to the accurate and timely execution of Permanent and Monthly POP, vendor promotions as well as briefing agencies and approving effective ad copy.


Writing: Individual should possess high level writing skills in order to effectively communicate detailed information to suppliers, markets and the stores with respect to execution of Monthly and Permanent POP.


Math: Individual requires basic math skills as they relate to budget reconciliations, and print cost evaluations.


Computer: Individual requires intermediate skills to perform communication elements of position as well as create and utilize spreadsheets and word documents.

Equipment-(10 key, fax, tools, etc.): Basic office equipment knowledge.


Travel: Individual is required to travel when required to train and/or assist markets with POP execution.


PHYSICAL EFFORT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Individual should be in good health as physical activity is occasionally required with respect to implementing POP in our stores.

Original and innovative thinking is used to develop point of purchase items to ensure implementation at store level is user friendly, while keeping a sharp view on providing the best possible communication to the customer.


DECISION MAKING/PROBLEM SOLVING/IMPACT:

Decisions must be made quickly while simultaneously keeping an eye on the big picture as it relates to the International look and feel of our stores. One must also possess the common sense to know when a decision can be made at the ISM Manager level or if the decision is to be made by the National Communications Manager. Lack of judgment during the decision making process could result in ineffective customer communication as well as confusion at market and store level.

Internal Contacts:

Internal Contacts are with National Communications Manager, Category Managers, Sr. Field Consultants as well as Category Management Support Staff.

i.e. – Gathering detailed information from the Sr. Field Consultants with respect to the specifics of each store in their group as it relates the POP requirements.

Internal Contacts are with the POP Managers in Dallas.

i.e. – Contact required with US counterparts to obtain the US theme, banner, windows etc. for Monthly POP.

External Contacts:

External contacts are with printers and designers.

i.e. – The printers require detailed work orders, outlining quantities, materials, where to obtain art etc.


MANAGEMENT/PLANNING:

Responsible for managing projects as assigned by the National Communications Manager. i.e. Coordinating all permanent pieces required for USE.
