The Windsor Regional Cancer Program (WRCP) at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) is seeking applications for a two-year residency program in clinical radiation oncology medical physics. Our CAMPEP accredited residency program is affiliated with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute/Wayne State University.

The WRCP serves the people within the Erie-St. Clair Local Health Integration Network. Current clinical resources in the Radiation Oncology Program include three Varian iX and one Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, an Xstrahl Orthovoltage unit, and an Discovery 590RT CT Simulator. Our brachytherapy program utilizes a Varian GammaMed Plus iX HDR remote afterloader for Gyne and Prostate treatments. Permanent I-125 seed implantation is also part of our clinical brachytherapy service. Advanced treatment planning systems are in clinical use including Eclipse, Brachyvision and Variseed. A Siemens 1.5T MRI has been installed within the Department of Radiation Oncology with slots dedicated specifically for oncology patients.

The residency program requires either a CAMPEP accredited PhD or MSc in Medical Physics. A strong commitment to the highest clinical standards, and highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills are required for this position. Candidates should also have good verbal and written communication skills, basic knowledge in radiation physics, and a strong interest in working in a multidisciplinary medical team.

The successful candidate will join an energetic, progressive and clinically focused Medical Physics team consisting of six medical physicists, four treatment planners, one physics assistant, and two accelerator technologists. The Medical Physics Resident will receive hands-on training over two years covering all aspects of clinical physics related to radiation treatment including radiation safety, radiation dosimetry, treatment planning, brachytherapy, and quality assurance of all radiation therapy equipment. About one fifth of the resident’s time will be devoted to a research project. The resident is encouraged to participate in medical physics courses and radiation oncology training and clinical rounds.

Applications are invited from all qualified candidates. Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada, in accordance with Canadian Immigration requirements. We thank all those who apply; however, only candidates chosen for interview will be contacted.

**Please apply on-line through the AAPM MP-RAP
