Job Description

At NuVou Solutions, we are committed to reshaping the landscape of long term care by providing quality trained staff to our clients. We are looking for Personal Support Workers that will bring a caring and compassionate approach to supporting seniors.

We are looking for Personal Support Workers who prefer casual, part-time OR full-time work and have the ability to create your own flexible schedule. Applicants must posses a PSW certificate or have successfully completed 1 year of a nursing program from an Ontario accredited college

Duties include:

  • Ensure residents receive the highest level of care
  • Implement critical thinking through the utilization of best practice guidelines and clinical judgment.
  • Responsible for documenting and reporting key resident information and updates on treatment plans for continuity of care
  • Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the Medical practitioner
  • Assist resident/clients with personal care and hygiene as well as activities of daily living
  • Maintain resident/client information confidentiality as per ministry guideline
  • Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in NuVou's Code of Conduct
  • To complete other duties as assigned, that fall within scope of practice

Requirements: must posses a PSW certificate or have successfully completed 1 year of a nursing program from an Ontario accredited college

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Personal Support Worker program (or provincial equivalent certificate program with minimum 600 hours in Ontario & Alberta of theory & practicum)
  • OPSWA Members are preferred
  • Experience working with seniors in the community health services setting
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer focus skills
  • Must have demonstrated sound skills and knowledge of providing personal care duties
  • Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one along with current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
  • Up-To-Date immunization records (2 step TB test)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, and PCC.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Knowledge and understanding of the long the care act, resident bill of rights, ministry mandates and directives.
  • Proficiency in basic physical assessment

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $25.00 per hour
