Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Start Date: September 3rd on monthly to month contract
System: Kroll
Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm 37.5-hrs/week

Our client in Burnaby is a specialty pharmacy is looking to hire a pharmacy assistant to work with their team. Here you would be interacting and handling a new side of pharmaceutical drugs, uncommon to a retail pharmacy. This is the perfect role for someone who is excited to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry.

Leave behind the typical retail pharmacy responsibilities and enjoy a more streamlined, professional work environment. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to hone your skills, work closely with healthcare professionals, and make a significant impact on patient care, all without the distractions and pressures of a retail setting. On a normal day to day, you would be performing about 300 Rx/day, and you would need to be able to lift 50lbs to help restock when required.

Your primary duties will be assisting the pharmacist with final product labeling, packing, shipping (knowledge of couriers is an asset), preparing medication for checking, as well as speaking with the patients over the phone, so strong communications skills are important.

You will be trained on-site on how to deal with these particular drugs and your particular duties within the pharmacy. The ideal candidate should have minimum 1 year of recent Canadian experience as a pharmacy assistant.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Duration: 3-month contract to start with extensions based on performance

Responsibilities include:
  • Evaluating all labeling, packaging and advertising of drugs
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers and healthcare providers
  • Speaking with patients over the phone for confirmation of delivery when necessary
  • Maintaining medical profiles

Candidate Qualifications:
  • Must be proficient with Kroll to operate independently
  • Proficient Data Entry skills required (Minimum of 50 words per minute)
  • Individual must be highly motivated, personable, knowledgeable, and possess Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
