Our pub has become known for the quality and selection of items available on our extensive menu. Whether you are looking for seafood, a delicious and unique house burger and fries or our made in house vegan burger, we have you covered. We offer many local products and craft beers, and regular live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

We are looking for a professional and friendly server to join our team! Your main goal in this position should be to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and provide an outstanding customer experience. This position includes weekends and evenings. This is starting off as a parttime seasonal position, however for the right person this could become a permanent position.

We are looking for someone who understands how to make customers feel welcome, and who understands we work as a team. Ensure you are available to customers for that second (or third, or fourth) drink, have good time management, an ability to juggle multiple tables, knows how to explain menu items, understands upselling, and who understands when to spend that bit of time at a table and when to back off and leave people be. An ability to smoothly manage any complaints, work together with the kitchen closely to ensure smooth service, step in to help a colleague when they need a hand, run food when it is up for whichever table (not just your own) or communicate with your colleague that there is food to be run. Yes, when working front of house we each have “our” tables, but in the end we are all responsible to ensure good service and that customers are happy. If you see a table needing anything, help them or let your colleague know. No matter if it is “your table” or not, we all work together to ensure our customers are served and happy.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet customers and lead them to their seats

- Introduce our menus and describe specials, dishes and drinks

- Make recommendations to our customers

- Take orders accurately and deliver them in a timely manner

- Adhere to food, sanitary and safety standards

- Identify and resolve any special requirements, wants and needs of customers

- Work closely with other staff members

- Other tasks will include cleaning and at times assist with food preparation

- Run dishes through the dishwasher when you have a moment. This is a shared responsibility between all staff

- Be aware of allergy concerns and communicate with kitchen staff to ensure a safe experience

Qualifications

- Some experience preferred

- Comfortable handling cash

- Team player

- Good time-management skills

- Great interpersonal and communication skills

- Have, or be able to obtain, Food Handlers certificate

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
