Position Summary

The primary function of Terminal Patrol is to maintain the integrity of the Primary Security Line, as well as the sterility of the Air Terminal Building, by patrolling (by foot) on a regular basis at irregular intervals. This position reports to the Security Supervisor and/or Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide continuous patrol & monitoring of the Air Terminal Building, curb and parkades for suspicious behavior not conducive with the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the aerodrome.

Provide customer service to travelling public and non-passengers when required.

Escort emergency responders as required.

To support the monitoring of the Primary Security Line there are regular patrols of ATB doors. In addition, these resources are regularly dispatched by the Operations Centre when there is an alarm generated at a portal either within the ATB as well for life safety and security issues.

Maintain security of the Primary Security Line, through continuous patrolling and generate digital reports for each Primary Security Line patrol.

Respond to calls and alarms from Operations Centre as required.

Conduct Explosive Trace Detection as required/ requested by the Operations Centre

Maintain details of all patrols, activities, events, reports, etc.

Pick up items for the Airport Authority’s Lost & Found Office that may be valuable.

Skills, Abilities & Educational Requirements:
Must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must always hold and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (RAIC) for the duration of the Contract.

Must possess a Valid AB Security License.

Must hold an Emergency or Standard First Aid certificate.

Personnel are expected to be physically able to perform the job assigned to them.

Maintain a high level of radio proficiency.

Required to be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, additional languages are considered an asset.

Formal education sufficient for effective communication, including reading, writing and comprehension and effective decision making as required by the position.

Working Conditions:
Work 12-hour shifts.

May be exposed to prolonged periods of walking, sitting, or standing.

May be employed indoors or outdoors in periods of inclement weather.
