JOB PURPOSE:

The General Warehouse worker is to receive, sort, and pack donations for The Salvation Army which includes continuous standing, bending and lifting of up to 50 pounds as well as transporting product. This is a busy position, the incumbent will be required to work efficiently and manage their time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive gifts and clothing from various agencies and public.

• Sort clothing, furniture, and other stock responsibilities.

• Continuous standing, bending, and lifting.

• Lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance)

• Transport of product using a Salvation Army vehicle/cube van.

• Other job related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The applicant must be able to contribute as a team player, projecting a positive, professional, and helpful attitude.

• They must have ability to work independently and have the capability to systematically organize.

• The incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality.

• Proven written and oral communication skills must be able to be demonstrated in daily interactions.

• Must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

• A valid driver’s license and a clear driving record are required.

• The ability to model the values and standards of The Salvation Army.

NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.

Working Conditions: Full Time Contract Position

40 hours per week

8:30am to 5:00pm $16.00 per hour
